Payers underpay you in two ways.

Most practices only catch one.

Recover it

They pay less than your contract.

That money is owed to you today, and appeal windows keep closing. These are the issues we find most in specialty claims.

  • Wrong fee scheduleContract $139.00, paid $108.60
  • Downcoded visitBilled 99214, paid as 99213
  • Procedure reduction misappliedPrimary 29881 paid at 50%
  • Incorrect bundling2 procedures billed, 1 paid
  • Old rate after an increaseRaised Jan 1, old rate in March

Plus carve-outs, place-of-service downgrades, and payer-specific edge cases that only show up line by line.

Renegotiate it

Your contract pays less than it should.

Same payer. Same code. But your neighbor gets paid more. That's not a billing error, it's leverage at your next renewal.

“I started Vareo after seeing underpayments hit my mom's practice. Gigantic health systems pay whole teams to check every payment. Vareo is that team for everyone else.”

Health plans are now required to publish the rates they negotiate with every provider. Is the same payer paying your neighbors more than you?

No claims data, contracts, or BAA needed. We only use published rate data.

From your remits to money in your account.

  1. Connect your data

We can connect to your PM or clearinghouse. Setup takes minutes of your team’s time and your billing team stays in place.

  2. We check each line

Payments are compared with your contract terms, payer rules, and published market rates.

You get a findings report with each variance and the evidence behind it.

  3. We file and follow up

Vareo prepares and submits appeals, then follows them to payment. Your team doesn't have to work them.

You see what's filed, pending, and paid.

  4. You get paid first

When a payer pays, they still pay you. You pay us after, and if we recover nothing, you owe nothing.

You get regular reports on recovered dollars and which payers underpay most.

A share of what we recover, with no setup or monthly fees. If we recover nothing, you pay nothing. Our standard rate is on the pricing page, and billing companies and high-volume groups can ask about partner pricing. The Market Rates snapshot is free.

No. Your billing team keeps submitting claims and working denials. Vareo goes after the underpayments nobody has time to chase, and we coordinate so the same claim is never worked twice.

Your remittance files (835s) are the core. Claim files (837s), EOBs, and payer contracts or fee schedules make the audit sharper. We can pull data from your clearinghouse, Availity, or practice management system, or work from exports you send us.

Most of the work is ours. You sign a BAA and our agreement, then connect us to your PM or clearinghouse, which takes minutes of your team’s time. We handle the rest of the setup, and if you can send exports, we can start auditing right away.

They help, but you don't need them to start. Most practices can't find every contract. We can begin with your remits and published payer rates, then help you track down the contracts and fee schedules that matter most.

Yes. Vareo prepares and submits appeals, follows up with payers, and tracks each one until it's paid or closed. You can see the status of every claim we're working.

Yes, with every client, before any patient data is shared.

Commercial payers, including UnitedHealthcare, Aetna, Cigna, and Blue Cross Blue Shield plans. We don't work Medicare or Medicaid claims. If you have out-of-network claims or No Surprises Act disputes, bring them up on your call.

Federal price transparency rules require health plans to publish the rates they negotiate with providers. We use that data to compare your rates with practices near you, by payer and procedure. Rates vary with network and contract terms, so treat them as a strong signal for negotiation, not a guarantee.

Stop chasing payers. Audit them.

Find out what you're owed and where your rates stand. Both are free to start.
